Im doing this cache series based on some of my experiences while geocaching. Ive had some pretty awesome experiences! And ive also had some that almost landed me in jail... I think .. Haha SO here's cache #3 in my series ID like to call
Have you ever heard of geocaching?
Back in 2015, my little family moved to Estes Park, Colorado. I got a job down at a little pizza place, the interior of the restaurant is OLD brick with THOUSANDS of signatures all over the walls.) When I wasn't working, we were Geocacheing! I experienced some of THE BEST geocaches. The hiking is SO breathetaking.
One day, my friend and I were in search of a geocache, just walking distance from where we stayed named Samson.
Samson ended up being a huge statue of a buffalo. We were searching and searching for a bison tube and had come up empty handed a few times already. So we are down looking low feeling up under the paws of the statue and suddenly I feel possibly... Is that somebody's drugs??? A bulky square trash bag material wrapped in tape is what I've got my hand on at this point. And I think,
"Oh lord is this possibly a murder weapon??"
They say curiousity killed the cat.
Yes. It does.
We unwrap this kind of scared to see what's inside. It's a t-shirt with a note wrapped in it.
"Congratulations! You've won a contest hosted by ESPNEWS! Call this number etc etc, to claim your prize!"
One phone call later and Malia and I are getting our picture taken for ESPNEWS and given certificates for free "big foot" shaped pizza, and free salt water taffy from a local shoppe!
I guess big foot is a popular thing in that part of the world and we some how stumbled upon a contest we knew nothing about!
So! With that being said! I've hidden my 3rd cache to my little series at a small church off the side of highway 9! I'm unsure as to why they no longer hold church service here anymore, but it's a cute little building. It's my idea of a church. I'm just not into the big, brand new, tvs hanging from the ceiling, flashy churches you see all over the place now days. I like the small, creaky, probably needs a paint job churches.
You are looking for a square container about the size of your hand. I enjoy making my caches a bit tricky to locate and for that I do apologize! If the difficulty needs raised or if you need another hint don't be afraid to message me. Service through here is pretty rough so be prepared! And enjoy!(:
Also! Bring your own pen!
And if by some chance This cache stays up and going years after my time I hope my kids find comfort in remembering all of our memories we created together. Geocaching will forever and always be "our thing"
