Ohhh The Memories!! (Southland) Traditional Cache
MrandMrsFraggle: This was such fun placing my first ever cache, but due to my mother having move to another residence, I thought that now is the time for this cache to be retired.
I am glad that those who found it it enjoyed the story. Watch for the next chapter.

This cache is our first hide. What better place than my childhood home. A place where "Captain Southroads" reigned and my mother still resides. We moved here 1st June 1980. We didn't go to primary school here, but weirdly enough my sister now does...every day! In the 80's there were 2 petrol stations , The Dairy-when it was a "Dairy" selling groceries, ice creams lollies...no hot food... that was bought at the Wallacetown fish supply, an Electrical Shop, a Hairdresser, Peter Jackson Plumbing (and an enormous tap). The Green Rooves Tavern has always been here, and the Volunteer Fire Brigade still practices Mondays @ 7.15PM.... You can set the clock by the siren. And to this day, when the wind blows in certain directions, the local Freezing Works' 'fragrance' brings strong memories still! This is an easy Park and Grab, which is placed with the home owners (Mum's) permission. There is no need to enter the property, it is easily accessed from the street. Stealth required, and do watch out for the local guard dogs alerting the neighbourhood. State Highway 99 is a very busy road, so be mindful of GeoKids and GeoDogs
