Park hours: 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. (0600 - 2300 hrs) Park at Highland Picnic Area. Coordinates given. The parking / picnic area can be very busy on Summer weekends and holidays. Public restrooms near the parking area.
You will walk on the original Highland Road. The bridge you cross was part of that roadway. From the parking area, the Highland you see today, from the park entrance, heading southeast up to Richmond Heights, was built in the early 1970s. Imagine driving up, or down, this road in the 1930s, or even taking a horse and wagon up it in the 19th Century.
