Urszula to niegdyś jedna z bardziej popularnych Świętych. Imię pochodzi od "ursus" - niedźwiedź.
W kapliczce znajduję się obrazek prezentujący tą św. Urszulę z pradawnych czasów, stąd też bardzo niewiele mamy informacji historycznych o jej życiu.
Najdawniejszy żywot św. Urszuli pochodzi z roku 975.Opis arcybiskupa Gerona został oparty na wizjach rekluzy Helmtrudy z Neuenherse, która pewnej nocy ujrzała w swej wyobraźni sceny z męczeństwa 11 tysięcy dziewic, którym przewodziła św. Urszula. Według podań Urszula była córką króla Brytów. Jako chrześcijanka postanowiła służyć Panu Bogu w dozgonnym dziewictwie. Kiedy starał się o jej rękę syn pogańskiego króla Eteriusza, Urszula ze względów politycznych nie mogła odrzucić oferty, ale wymogła na swoim ojcu, że zaczeka z zamążpójściem 3 lata, a w tym czasie odbędzie pielgrzymkę do Rzymu. Wsiadła na statki z jedenastoma tysiącami swoich towarzyszek, również dziewic, i wypłynęła z Brytanii.W drodze powrotnej, gdy silny wiatr zepchnął okręty z dziewicami aż do ujścia Renu, napotkały Hunów. Za to, że Urszula odmówiła swej ręki także Atylli, wodzowi Hunów, wszystkie zostały zamordowane. Po dokonaniu zbrodni Hunowie mieli mieć widzenie zastępów dziewic wstępujących do nieba. To sprawiło, że odstąpili od oblężenia Kolonii i opuścili tamte strony. Ciała świętych dziewic pochowano w miejscu czczonym do dziś.
Legenda ta została osnuta na tle historii męczeństwa św. Urszuli, jakie poniosła ze swoimi towarzyszkami na początku wieku IV, za panowania cesarza Maksencjusza (306-312). Wśród towarzyszek Urszuli była m.in. św. Kordula, która początkowo zdołała uciec i skryć się, ale później ujawniła się, by ponieść męczeństwo w imię Chrystusa. Nie jest historycznie potwierdzone, że w tym czasie nastąpił najazd Hunów. Na miejscu męczeństwa powstał cmentarz Ager Ursulanus, a ku czci zamordowanych dziewic wystawiono jeszcze w tym samym wieku kościół.

This caused them to abandon the siege of Colonia and leave the area. The bodies of the holy virgins were buried in a place revered to this day.
This legend is set against the background of the story of the martyrdom of St. Ursula, which she suffered with her companions in the early fourth century, during the reign of Emperor Maxentius (306-312).
