Geocache Description:

The Raymond Brook Preserve is owned by the town of Hebron Ct. There are three access points. One on Church St., one on Kinney Rd. and the third on Millstream Rd. The Raymond Brook Preserve has a very interesting history and could be known as Settlers Park. Hebron's first settler, William Shipman, from Saybrook, built his cabin here in 1704. The Shipman family were a direct recipients of the land in the will of Attawanhood, Sachem of the western Nehantics. Since 1704, the land has changed ownership several times and has been used for farming. There are several points of interest along the trails of the preserve that are identified as you proceed along the trails.

The cache is a plastic container that will hold small trade items and contains a log for signing.

Permission to hide this cache was obtained from the Parks and Recreation Director, Town of Hebron, CT.
