Empedocles (c.494 – c. 434 BC) was a Greek pre-Socratic philosopher who suggested that four ultimate 'roots' made all the structures in the world, namely: earth, air, fire and water. Plato later referred to these 'roots' as 'elements', often known as 'classical elements'. These are clearly to be differentiated from our current scientific understanding of chemical elements and the Periodic Table.
This mini-series of caches is based around the four Empedoclesian 'roots', with each one relating to either earth, air, fire or water. Two of the caches require some equipment for access, so be sure to read the descriptions and look at the attributes.

Start at the posted co-ordinates where you will find a theme-related sign with three lines of white text on a green background (underneath the parking information sign at the edge of the carpark). Using A=1 (and use the digital root of any two-digit numbers, so Z = 2+6 = 8, etc.)... convert the following (Word/Letter) to derive the final co-ordinates:
A = W2/L8
B = W2/L7
C = W2/L6
D = W3/L2
E = W2/L1
F = W3/L2
G = W2/L5
H = W1/L2
The cache is at N50 5A.BCD W001 2E.FGH
Checksum of all 15 digits of the final co-ordinates = 51
Waypoint averaging has been used to set the co-ordinates, but tree cover could be problematic, especially at certain times of the year.
There's a prize in the cache for the FTF. In the event of a joint-FTF, decide amongst yourselves who gets to keep it.
Please do not post any photos or details that would give away the final location.
