When I started hiding caches on the A&M-San Antonio campus, the Survivor Tree was one of the first locations that came to mind. As you will read on the plaque, the Survivor Tree began as a sapling from the 9/11 Survivor Tree, the sole tree that remained after the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings. However, because it's a very visible area, and because I didn't want to do anything to decrease the solemnity of the location itself, a traditional cache just wouldn't work. And of course, a virtual cache is no longer an option. But then I realized -- a puzzle cache!!! The container itself is NOT located at the coordinates listed, but it's a starting point to solve the puzzle below.
