This cache is in the "Cooma - Yamaga Sister Cities" Lions Park.
Student exchange programs run frequently between the two cities, and this park represents peace and friendship between the two cities and countries (i.e. Australia and Japan).

The crane, a sacred bird in Japan, lives for a hundred years, and if a sick person folds 1,000 paper cranes, then that person would soon get well. So in keeping with the theme of peace and friendship, please fold your own crane and add it to our collection.
The cache will never hold the number of cranes as a park like the famous "Children's Peace Monument" in Hiroshima, but we can contribute in our own small way in our little neck of the woods :)
Below is a link on how to fold a crane if you have never done so before.

For more background information on the folding of origami cranes, please look up the history of Sadako Sasaki or visit this link for a quick glimpse.
