Moses en het bankje (Magnetisch)
Het Vondelpark , ontworpen door J.D. Zocher en L.P. Zocher, werd 15 juni 1865 opengesteld voor publiek. De aanleg van het park was een particulier initiatief. De financiering werd verzorgd door de burgerij door middel van donaties. Nog steeds doneren burgers aan het park.
Bij de overdracht naar de gemeente Amsterdam in 1953 was een voorwaarde dat het vrij lopen van honden toegestaan zou blijven. Deze bijzondere bepaling stamt al uit de begintijd.
Op 1 november 1996 is het Vondelpark als één van de eerste volksparken in Nederland ingeschreven in het rijksmonumentenregister. Het park hoort bij de stad. Het is de plek waar hippies hun Summer of Love vierden en de jongeren van nu hun Summer of Freedom. Het is onze ontmoetingsplek.
In 2021 is het vondelpark dus 25 jaar Rijksmonument. Dit heugelijke feit wordt gevierd met een tentoonstelling in het park. Persoonlijk vind ik MOSES, de rhino van Atelier van Lieshout echt heel wonderlijk, Magies zouden we in de jaren 60 gezegd hebben. Jammer dat ie weer weg moet, maar het bankje en de herinnering blijft.
Maar ook als Moses weg is kun je leuke dingen zien vanaf dit bankje. In de zomer de ooievaars op het nest in het beschermde stukje natuur aan de overkant. In het centrale deel zie je een merkwaardig object, dit is een ambachtelijk gevlochten "hangkorf" voor honingbijen.

The Vondelpark, designed by J.D. Zocher and L.P. Zocher, was opened to the public on June 15, 1865. The construction of the park was a private initiative. Funding was provided by the citizenry through donations. Citizens still donate to the park.
With the transfer to the municipality of Amsterdam in 1953, it was a condition that the free walking of dogs would continue to be allowed. This special provision dates to the early days of the park.
On November 1, 1996, the Vondelpark was one of the first public parks in the Netherlands to be registered in the national register. The park belongs to the city. It is the place where hippies celebrated their Summer of Love and today's young people their Summer of Freedom. It's our meeting place.
In 2021, the Vondelpark will be a national monument for 25 years. This happy fact is celebrated with an exhibition in the park. Personally, I think MOSES, the rhino from Atelier van Lieshout is wonderful, they would have said Magies in the 1960s. But even when Moses is gone you can see nice things from this bench. In the summer the storks on the nest in the protected piece of nature on the other side. In the central part you can see a curious object, this is an artisanal braided "hanging basket" for honeybees.
