This is the second in a series of caches to memorialize Seattle bars, taverns, and other such establishments that have gone by the wayside for one reason or another. This building once housed an establishment that closed its doors in early summer 2020, an early casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the not-too-distant past, nearby wall art implored passers by to "EAT GÜD FÜD". This cache commemorates the quirky vibes and amazing decor that once lived in this space. Please note:
- Do not be fooled by the decoy nearby (lid from an old container in a hiding spot that failed to thrive). The coordinates are precise.
- BYOP (bring your own pen), or you will not be able to sign the log.
- Tweezers might also be helpful, as some have reported the log is hard to get out of the container.
Archived Updates
UPDATE 1 (2022/01/02): Forgot to state this in the original description, this is a BYOP (bring your own pen) situation! Congrats to onedersara8 on being the first to find!
UPDATE 2 (2023/07/19): The original container and log went missing, possibly in the depths of the morass beneath the hiding space [hint hint]. Please be careful when removing/replacing the container from its hiding place, as it is somewhat delicate and might break loose if pulled too hard.
UPDATE 3 (2024/06/23): The quest to find a new spot for this cache continues. A new hiding spot has been found, we will see how long it lasts.
UPDATE 4 (Summer/Autumn 2024): The good news is a new establishment has moved into the space once occupied by the memorialized bar. The bad news is the relocated version of the memorialized bar shut the doors of its Capitol Hill location in late June 2024. RIP.
