Merry Christmas!!!
I've always enjoyed the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas." I've even been in silly performances of it. I never really thought about what it was about. Nobody really knows where it came from, but the theory that I find most interesting is from the era when Catholicism was outlawed in England. Some people think it was a coded hymn to help Catholics learn "the tenets of their faith."
According to this tradition, the third day of Christmas brought Three French Hens - which represents the three virtues of Faith, Hope and Love.
I hope you enjoy this Christmas series...and that the song gets stuck in your head, just like it always does in mine.
