Geocache Description:

[ENG] This cache is part of a series that will take you to discover the territories of the great reclamation of Eastern Veneto and the Lower Piave, between ancient and modern artifacts, immersed in the splendid coastal and rural landscape between Torre di Fine, Caorle, Eraclea and Brian, surrounded from expanses of fertile crops, agritourisms, monumental and particular water pumps, ditches, orchards, bridges and canals. The route, preferably to be done by bicycle, was designed with the help of 29 inches, a great lover of water pumps.

For information regarding the major reclamation of the Lower Piave, which allowed the rehabilitation of the marshy areas, see the website https://www.bonificavenetorientale.it/il-consorzio/

The complete route to follow by bike, preferably gravel or mountain bike, can be found here: https://it.wikiloc.com/percorsi-gravel-bike/giro-delle-idrovore-eraclea-caorle . The route mainly follows the waterways, pay attention to possible maintenance work on the embankments.

After passing the small church of Valle Tagli, you arrive at the intersection between the Pollastrona road and the Tezzon road and cross the Tezzon swing bridge that crosses the Brian canal (or Livenza Morta, from the name of the old mouth of the Livenza river, diverted by the Venetians in the 1655). Just after the bridge, in the middle of the cultivated fields that make up one of the entrances to the Ca'Corniani estate, you will notice animals. They are the white guardians of this landscape, owners of a tenant who works the fields. Stop for a short stop to admire them, and immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside, among fields planted with corn and wheat, dotted here and there with typical Venetian farmhouses. To find the cache, immediately after the bridge, go down to the right and go to the information panel. Then answer these questions:

1). How many horses are there in all?
