Grāpju Peninsula – Wild Oasis in Industrial Riga. Escape the hustle of the city right in the middle of the Daugava River, on a small floodplain island that has preserved its wild charm. Grāpju Peninsula is a true blend of nature and history – a place where lush wild vegetation, industrial heritage and the vastness of the river create an unforgettable atmosphere.
This is a wonderful spot for walks, whether on foot or by bicycle. The road to the end of the island is a small adventure in itself, with interesting and uneven terrain (especially popular with jeep and off-road enthusiasts). In the warm season, yachts and jet skis glide by, while in quieter moments only birdsong and the rustle of the wind dominate.
