This cache is a challenge cache. You can sign the log at any time, but to log the cache as a find, you must complete the challenge. Any found it logs of cachers that do not qualify will be asked to change to a Write It Note.
There are 4 types of Challenges that geocachers try to complete involving grids that are seen on stats: The Fizzy Grid, the Jasmer Grid, the Dates Placed Grid, and the Dates Found Grid. Some of these grids are easier to complete than others. All of these Grids have challenges in and around the state of Maryland, but this is the first where you will need to complete all four grids to qualify for this Challenge. So, to qualify for this challenge, you need to complete your Fizzy Grid, your Jasmer Grid, your Dates Find Grid and your Dates Placed Grid. For the Dates Find Grid, February 29th may be skipped. There is a Challenge Checker below to use to check to see if you qualify.
The geocache is a regular sized lock-n-lock. Even though this challenge is rated a 5/4.5 - the actual find is a 1/3, and does involve crossing a small stream. The first 3/4 of the hike is on a flat trail, but in the summer months, the area near the end of the hike can be thorny with high grass, and East West Park in known to have lots of ticks. Parking coordinates have been provided and the park is open from dawn to dusk.
