Geocache Description:

Congratulations to Georgejadawg for the FTF!

While you enjoy hiking at Skidaway Island State Park, why not enjoy some information about nature and things you see while doing so. Tree throws are very common, especially in the South since many trees have a very shallow root system and are therefore blown over quite easily in a storm. Tree Throws are of vital importance to the health of a forest, its inhabitants and its ecology. They provide shelter for animals and are nutrient rich.

Now that you know a bit about tree throws, read the sign for more information and find this cache.

Skidaway Island State Park has wonderful trails. The Big Ferry Trail takes you quite a way around the island. You learn a lot as you meander through the park. You will encounter many educational signs. Biking is allowed on the Big Ferry Trail.

A parking fee is required, this caches was placed with the permission of the park manager.

FTF prize, an unactivated travel bug.
