It's back!
At this same spot in early 2004, I placed the original geocache of the same name Sight For Sore Eyes (GCJDNZ). It lasted for over 16 years and it accumulated over 1200 find logs.
Then something happened. The sign broke. It went down to the ground. I don't know what happened to it - I assume high winds. Must have been one heck of a wind gust because it was a very stout sign. Anyway, it took them a long time to fix it and during that time I was unable to maintain the geocache. So it was archived.
Now the sign is back. And now a new geocache is in place - hidden exactly like the original. Ready for another 1200+ finds.
Park in the rest area. From parking, it is an easy walk to the geocache. Watch your step - it is an area where people let their dogs do their thing. Also, sometimes the ground close the geocache gets pretty wet. My feet have gotten wet there several times.
