We were up late last night researching possible places to hide our long-overdue first cache. We set out this morning with a ton of ambition, armed with a list of possible locations and a box full of loaded cache containers.
At the first site, we ran into a locked gate and a no trespassing sign. Nuts! So that was out... On to the next! Oh no! Parking lot is closed. Third site, no realistic access and a little sketchy. At the fourth site, we thought we had a winner and nearly got run over by mountain bikes while we were taking the coordinates. So with the list exhausted, we just wandered around, determined to drop something somewhere today. It's our favorite thing to do anyway...
So, this spot is the end of our adventure (we ran out of road and were getting hungry). This is an access point to Malabar Scrub Santuary that was previously unknown to us, but looks like there's been a few caches down the trail over the years.
Part of our cache kit was a palette, brush and various colors of acrylic paint (hey, you never know)... Hopefully it's dry when the first to find arrives! The cache is located just outside of the sanctuary. Easy P&G so we can get our feet wet as a CO...
Side note: We did find a great spot for a future hide, but it will need a special container and a bit of research.
