Geocache Description:

This is another cache along the Connswater Community Greenway in east Belfast, so if you're out for a walk or cycle in the area you can now pick up a string of caches along the way!

Dixon Playing Fields were opened in 1966 and are adjacent to Orangefield Park/Greenville Park; they're separated by Grand Parade but linked by the Connswater/Knock river. They were originally part of a private estate, part of which was sold to the Belfast Corporation and developed as part of a vision to improve the health and welfare of the area's citizens by providing places for exercise and the enjoyment of nature.

There is plenty of parking in the streets alongside the greenway and also in the grounds of Dixon Playing Fields when the vehicular access gates on Grand Parade are open.

The cache

This cache is at the far end of the playing fields near Hutchinson Bridge, named for David Hutchinson, the former principal of my old primary school Elmgrove. The cache is a magnetic camouflaged nano, hidden at an appropriate spot where it fits in nicely.
