This series is a pathway along the Shenchong canal through the heart of a dense urban village with a rich history and even richer contemporaneity. Zhucun Village has been around for hundreds of years, but before the 1970s and 1980s was an agricultural hamlet the inhabitants of which would find the present-day vibrant urban village unrecognizable. The series follows a canal which has seen popular public space improvements along it as part of Guangzhou's huge waterway improvement efforts over the last decade.
Each of the 10 caches in the Zhucun village part of the series features one sentence from the excellent Zhucun Village introduction provided in a sign along the way.
