Geocache Description:


“Bamas” - tai rytinis Palangos rajonas, kurio pavadinimas yra kilęs nuo geležinkelio linijos - Baikalo-Amūro magistralės, BAM (rus. Байкало-Амурская магистраль, БАМ), kuri prasideda Sibire ir baigiasi Rusijos Tolimuosiuose rytuose. Pagrindinė Baikalo-Amūro magistralės atkarpa yra 3100 km ilgio ir driekiasi nuo Ust Kuto prie Lenos upės iki Komsomolsko prie Amūro.

Kadangi šis Palangos rajonas buvo pastatytas žaibišku greičiu, kaip ir ši geležinkelio linija, o statybos vyko panašiu metu (apie 1970-tuosius) tad ir rajonas gavo šią pravardę, kuria vietinių palangiškių vadinamas iki šiol.
