The Kill Devil Hills Library nearby with more than 37,000 books, magazines, videos, and DVDs opened its doors in February of 1990 on a portion of 322 acres, known locally as the Baum Tract, that Diane Baum St. Clair partially donated and sold at a fraction of its value on very generous terms. In addition to the library you will find a senior center, water plant, two public schools, local chamber of commerce, and the town’s administration and water departments.
Even in this age of digital information, e-books and the internet, the library is still an integral part of any community and source of information. Librarians are highly-trained professionals who know (almost) everything and can offer guidance to students, job-seekers and anyone conducting research on almost any topic imaginable.
Miss Donna runs the Children's Department with a variety of fun-filled program for the entire family including routine modified Geocache Searches inside and outside the Kill Devil Hills Library. Using simple maps and clues she will guide you to Hidden Treasure boxes of take-home activities and wonderful prizes.
A tool to retrieve the log may not always be necessary but might prove handy in the event the log unravels. Please remember to close the door and reset the lock before leaving.
