The Shinbori water supply is one of the bunsuisui of the Tamagawa josui.
It is located at the Kodaira monitoring station in Nakajimacho, Kodaira City, where water is diverted from Tamagawa Josui in the same way as Nobidome Water supply.
Shinbori water supply is a water supply that flows along the north side of Tamagawa Josui.
Water taken from the Tama River still flows in the Shinbori water supply.
Water was diverted from the Tamagawa josui created in the Edo period (1603-1868), including water for Ogawa and Nonaka, but was later diverted from this Shinbori water supply.
This was newly created as part of the maintenance of the water diversion outlet when the Tamagawa josui was allowed to be used for transportation in 1898.
A total of seven water diversion outlets to the Sengawa josui were replaced to divert water from the Shinbori water supply.
Today, however, the flow can only be seen as far as near Kihei Bridge.
If you cross the small bridge of Shinbori water supply from the promenade beside Tamagawa Josui Water, you will find a narrow promenade between you and Tsuda College.
The cache was set up on that narrow promenade.

新堀用水は小平市中島町の玉川上水から野火止用水を分水している小平監視所で玉川上水から分水し、玉川上水に沿って流れる用水です。
江戸時代に作られた玉川上水からは、小川用水、野中用水など分水が行われていましたが、のちにこの新堀用水からの分水となりました。
これは、明治3年(1870)4月15日から玉川上水に運搬のための通船が許可された時に、分水口の整備の一環として新たに作られました。
千川上水までの計7つの分水口が、新堀用水からの水から分水するように付け替えられました。
しかし現在では、喜平橋付近までしかその流れを確認することができません。
玉川上水は小平監視所で再生水に置き換わりますが、新堀用水は多摩川から取り込んだ水が今でも流れています。
玉川上水の脇の遊歩道から新堀用水の小橋を渡ると、津田塾大学との間に狭い遊歩道があります。
キャッシュはその道幅の狭い遊歩道に設置しました。
