As my K9K8 nickname indicates: I love dogs! I grew up with 14 different dogs and have had 4 dogs of my own. My first vocation was as an engineer; once a geek, always a geek. As a second career I switched to dog grooming. I like to claim that I have had hundreds of pets, but only a few are 24/7. I’ve since retired from both careers. Both science and animals have enriched my life. All my cache hides will have something to do with the dogs I’ve known and loved.
The name of this cache was recommended by my fellow groomer/geochaching buddy and may not be familiar to all. I personally want to go to the heaven that holds all of the dogs I’ve known and loved – be they my own dogs, my folks dogs that I grew up with or former customer dogs. I love them all as if they were mine! I do not follow any common religions but I do hope that the Rainbow Bridge exists!
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this edge of heaven
The pets who have left us play
At the foot of the Rainbow Bridge.
Bathed in sunshines rays,
Lifetime’s woes are long forgotten.
All memories of pain erased.
The sick are well.
The lame are whole,
As they romp their cares away.
Yet there remains a gentle tug,
Distant memories of loves and hugs.
So while they play they also wait…
For such friends are forever.
Then your time comes
And the vigil ends
Two friends forever joined again.
