27 years ago today, there was the most infamous prison break in Provo History — an inmate by the name of Keaton538 successfully infiltrated the system to not only escape from prison but take away with him the secrets that were the precursor to Geocaching — the preknowledge of how the WSG84 datum would eventually lead to the infamous "blue switch" being turned on, and how he, along with Jeremy Irish and Dave Ulmer, planned to forever change the course of treasure hunting.
Today, Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, The Provo Daily Herald has received an exclusive look at the declassified files at the Marriott Correctional Facilities and is publishing the last known correspondence between Keaton538 and his accomplices in hopes of finally uncovering the location where he lay the secrets of the past:
