La storia di Toiano Vecchio risale al periodo etrusco e successivamente all'alto Medioevo quando lì sorgeva un castello che poi fu distrutto dalle truppe fiorentine nel 1362, lasciando come unica testimonianza la campana maggiore della torre, detta “La Toianella”, che fu inviata come trofeo di guerra a Firenze e dove tutt'oggi suona le ore sul campanile di Arnolfo a Palazzo Vecchio.

The history of Toiano Vecchio dates back to the Etruscan period and subsequently to the early Middle Ages when a castle stood there which was then destroyed by the Florentine troops in 1362, leaving as the only testimony the main bell of the tower, called "La Toianella", which was sent as war trophy in Florence and where the hours still ring on Arnolfo's bell tower in Palazzo Vecchio.
ATTENZIONE: Il parco di Toiano Vecchio non è sempre aperto. Accertarsi prima di entrare al parco dell'orario di chiusura e di apertura. La domenica, come riportato all'ingresso l'orario è: 10-19 per gli altri giorni, gli orari, non sono elencati da nessuna parte, potreste trovare il parco chiuso oppure no!.
