Here is a hide to help bring out the little ones for a nice walk on a maintained trail. While it will require a walk of about 3 kilometers, this should provide a little excitement to keep the kids engaged in the outdoors. When weather permits, this trail is groomed for cross-country skiing, and shared with walkers, cyclists, and snowshoers.
The cache is a large ammo can easily spotted from the trail. No bushwacking required, but it is winter friendly so the wee ones may need help retrieving it.
