Geocache Description:

Background

Welcome to my series of odd and miscellaneous challenges.

Seeing this is the 13th "challenge" in the Olio series, we thought this challenge should be appropriately themed. We tried to come up with a challenge using the Bad Luck/(Un)Lucky 13 idea but decided the Baker's Dozen concept would work better.

Originally the 13th item in a Baker's Dozen was given out to customers for free, out of fear of being punished for cheating customers but the term seems so antiquated now. When was the last time you went into a doughnut shop or any bakery, asked for a dozen of anything, and walked out with 13 doughnuts, buns, rolls, or bread loaves?

At least for this challenge, 13 is guaranteed. :-)

The Challenge

To qualify for this challenge, you must have found a Baker's Dozen of the different cache types (icons), not including lab caches or benchmarks.

That leaves these 19 potential cache types available for this challenge:

  • Traditional Cache *
  • Unknown Cache *
  • Multi-cache *
  • Letterbox Hybrid *
  • Wherigo Cache *
  • Earthcache *
  • Virtual Cache *
  • Webcam Cache *
  • Locationless (Reverse) Cache *
  • Event Cache *
  • Cache In Trash Out Event *
  • Lost and Found aka Community Celebration Event Cache *
  • Mega-Event Cache *
  • Giga-Event Cache *
  • GPS Adventures Exhibit *
  • Groundspeak Block Party *
  • Groundspeak HQ Celebration *
  • Groundspeak HQ *
  • Project APE Cache *

Find any 13 of the 19 and you've completed this challenge.

The Requirements

Some more things about the challenge to be aware of:

  • Again, lab caches and benchmarks can not be used for this challenge.
  • Only one find of each cache type is required for this challenge.
  • There is no time limit for when these cache types are found. In other words, they do not all have to be found in one day or any other specific time period.
  • And the order you find these caches is irrelevant as well.
  • Past finds count. Any caches that you have found and have been archived or disabled after you have found them can be used for this challenge if it meets the criteria.

The fine print

CO reserves the right to make any changes to this challenge if any issues or ambiguities are discovered. CO will be fair but has the final say on any events, caches, finds, or logs that are questionable. CO reserves the right to delete any logs if problems are found.

Finding This Cache

Do NOT access this cache from Highway 2. Please use the nearby service road instead.

Please remember to be respectful of the cache location. Be aware of how and where the cache is "attached" so that it can be put back in exactly the same way and in the same place for the next person(s) to enjoy. Only the "inner" portion of the cache needs to be removed to log the cache. The container may not be accessible during the winter months.

Logging This Cache

As with any challenge caches, you are welcome to physically sign the log for this cache and log it as "Write Note" if you haven't met the challenge's requirements yet. Please bring your own pen(cil)/writing instrument to sign the log.

Please use this Project-GC challenge checker below to verify if you have qualified for this challenge.

PGC Checker

You can only log a "Found It" entry online after you've completed the challenge and signed the log. All non-qualifying "Found It" logs will be deleted without notice.

Similar Challenge Caches?

Whether you qualify for this challenge or not, you may also qualify for similar challenges as well.

If you know of any other caches similar to this challenge or if you want to replicate this challenge in your area, please let me know and I will add those caches here so that other cachers can be aware.
