Geocache Description:

Estimated time to complete: 1-2 hours one way
Estimated distance to travel: 2.5 km one way

I would recommend driving between waypoints
and then walking the reflector trail 🛺 🛺 🛺 👣

Violet Beauregarde was one of the five lucky children to find a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. She was arguably the most worthy to inherit the factory; however, she was disqualified for chewing Wonka's experimental 3-course gum which ended up turning her into a blueberry.

This night cache will take you through some of the highlights of Violet’s journey. There are five stages:

⭐️ Violet‘s Hall of Fame
⭐️ Tomato soup for first course
⭐️ Roast beef for second course
⭐️ Blueberry pie for third course
⭐️ The Chocolate Factory

You will need a UV torch at every stage to reveal coordinates or information. You are looking for containers for the first (listed coordinates) and fifth (GZ) stages. You are looking for writing on the underside of objects for the second, third and fourth stages. The blueberry pie coordinates will take you to the start of a reflector trail, where a regular torch is needed to find the way to a set of double reflectors at The Chocolate Factory.

All solved coordinates are written S37 49._ _ _ E145 09._ _ _
      ***no projections needed***

But wait, there’s more…!
For the keen-eyed, there are two UV “Easter eggs” hidden amongst the contents of the containers at the first and last stages - keep shining your UV torch once you’ve opened each container. Have fun.

Thanks to ILookedThere for the inspiration and advice to try a night cache incorporating UV.

UV torch advice
This cache has been tested successfully with simple $2 UV LED torches and stronger 365nm ones. If you have a weaker torch, attaching it to a 1m stick will improve its illuminating power at the tomato soup stage.

Reflector trail advice
Hold your torch at eye level for maximum reflection (but angle upwards to see the reflectors which are around 6m off the ground). Reflectors bounce most of the light straight back (at the torch). So keeping the torch close to your eye level (as with a head torch) makes the reflectors seem a lot brighter. This even gives your phone torch super powers. It also explains why the torch holder is the one who can often spot the reflectors whilst their buddy nearby sees very little.

Mozzie advice
There’s a strange synergy between a cache after dark, bright torches and UV light. Insects will love you, particularly on a warm night! Be sure to pack the bug repellent and apply liberally before venturing out.
