This cache is a bonus for completing the Brough Adventure Lab. Since you will have made all the effort to climb to the top of Mount Ida I thought it was only fair to give you an extra cache. The coordinates will be found in the journal entry of the Adventure Lab relating to Mount Ida.
Probably named after a mountain in Crete, this Mount Ida is a limestone height north of Brough. It provides extensive views of the Eden valley and is just above a series of folded limestone bedding that is best seen from the A66. The summit is on open access land, accessed from a gate at N 54 32.668 W 002 18.604. After that head towards a pointless gate at N 54 32.669 W 002 18.905 and then up the ridge to the summit cairn. It is approximately 2.5 miles from the bonus parking spot to the summit and back. There are sheer drops so take care with children and in mist. It is outside the MOD danger area, the flag you pass is just an indicator if there is life firing on the range that day.
There is parking at N 54 32.187 W 002 18.641 if you don't want to walk up from the village.
