Mr STC and I wanted to build some birdhouse caches. We searched the internet and found instructions to make them from a 1" x 6" board. As we were headed out to the store for the board, we spotted a couple of 1" x 6" boards we had used on our boat for lashing jerry cans to the rails leaning against the wall in the garage. We no longer have the boat so we decided to use the weather proof boards. We cut out the pieces to make 2 birdhouses. We hadn't gotten very far in the assembly of this birdhouse when we realized that the 1' x 6' board was more like a 1.25" x 6.25" instead. This birdhouse didn't look exactly like the example, ours has nail holes, screw holes and misaligned boards. It has a waterproof lock n lock inside to keep everything dry. Our first attempt isn't pretty but it works. Have fun searching.
