Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a series of 26, the Surrey A-Z, placed across the county by a team of 'Surrey Cachers'. The caches vary in type, size, and difficulty, and each location has a different initial letter...

'F' is for Farleigh.

Farleigh is a village in the civil parish of Chelsham and Farleigh in the Tandridge District of Surrey, England. It is located in theNorth Downs AONB and Metropolitan Green Belt, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) southeast of Croydon, 13.4 miles (21.6 km) south of London, and 25 miles (40 km) WNE of Surrey's county town, Guildford. Farleigh lay within the Anglo-Saxon feudal division of Tandridge hundred. Farleigh appears in Doomsday Book of 1086 as the manor of Ferlega. It was held by Robert de Wateville from Richard Fitz Gilbert (de Care and de Tonbridge). Its doomsday assets were: 12 hide; 2 ploughs, 1 ox, to its overlords per year rendering £3.

The Cache,

This was a clay pigeon in a tree stump, nature did a wonderful job at making a find impossible so the cache has been relocated nearby, the pigeon has become a bison!
