In 2016, shortly before his death, Lancaster resident Robert Durant donated a ten-acre parcel of land in Jefferson, NH to NH Fish and Game Department. For 30 years, Mr. Durant took a daily two-mile walk along the Israel River, taking field notes and photos of this beautiful area. Today anglers and wildlife watchers enjoy the area in all seasons. It is located at the convergence of the Israel River and Stalbird Brook. No motorized vehicles are allowed in the area. Park near the gate and pull off the road as far as you can. Travel bug for FTF.
