The King's Stanley Series will be a circular route that takes you along the footpaths around the picturesque Cotswold village of King's Stanley. As yet, it is not a circular walk, but is still a pleasant stroll along public footpaths, over narrow bridges, through kissing gates and over stiles. The intention is to add to the series to complete the circular route.
Unfortunately, the King's Stanley circular route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs and the terrain can be very muddy, so suitable footwear is advised. However, this cache could be completed as a stand alone cache which would then be accessible to both pushchairs and wheelchairs or even completed as a cache and dash.
At the time of placing the first 5 caches in the series (following a period of heavy rainfall) the route was very muddy. However, our geo-kids loved playing in the sticky mud and stream and then later finishing up in the play ground. So, from that perspective, we would say that this route is geo-kid friendly.
The route took us through a couple of fields where there were horses grazing - which although didn't pose any kind of safety issue to us passing through - we would highly recommend that any geo-hounds be kept on leads so as not to potentially cause upset to the horses. (This was just through the fields though)
The cache container does not contain a pencil so you will need to bring your own and you may find tweezers helpful.
