Geocache Description:

Haugen Park is a public park in Walton County FL. A large plaque and map describes the history of the early settlers of this small neck of paradise.  Interesting information regarding numerous families and a map identifiying their property lines locations and how the area was divided. The park itself is fenced with a walk-in gate that is never locked. I visit this park every day with my two dogs as do numerous other residents. There is a doggie container and bags so please use them if you bring your favorite friend along with you.  Be careful where you step although most users are courteous.  All water in FL is considered to be a potential habitat for alligators; however, no gators inhabit the pond next to the park at this time.

The cache is a small geocache container with a homemade FTF prize.  Be sure to enjoy the view, the breeze off the bay, maybe see some crabs, sting rays, dolphins, and of course mullett.  You may also see bald eagles and ospreys hunting and fishing close to shore.
