Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.
Crystal Brook West Lutheran Chuch
Foundation stone by Pastor Fuhlbohm, opened as Crystal Brook West Lutheran on land donated by Seidel family, new altar & pulpit.
District originally known as Crystal Brook West, railway siding named Nurom opened 1937.
“the Lutherans of Crystal Brook West have felt the want of a church in which to worship God after the manner of their fathers. Pastor W. Fulbaum [sic], within whose district this locality is situated, has been in the habit of making periodical visits, and on such occasions services have been held at the residence of Mr. A. F. Noll. . .All the quarrying, stone-carting, and cartage of materials was done by the farmers around. . .The building is 33 ft. long, 32 ft. wide, and the walls are 12 ft 9 in. high from floor to wall plate. The whole structure is substantial and well built, and is an ornament to the neighborhood and a credit to a small community.” [Advertiser 20 Apr 1897]
