Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

The playing board:  A grid of N rows and N columns where N is a number from 4 to 6.  Between the rows and columns, at various locations, are inequality operators.  <, >, ^, and v.  The operators put limitations on the numbers that can be placed in the adjoining cells, i.e., 2 < 3, 4 > 1.

The rules are pretty simple.  Each number from 1 to N can appear only once in each column and in each row.  The numbers must obey the inequality operators.  For example, consider this 4x4 puzzle.

Now, here is the completed puzzle.

Keep in mind that these are not math puzzles.  They are logic puzzles.

To find the cache you must solve the following puzzles then do a little math.  DON’T PANIC!  If you completed the second grade, you can handle the math.

Let’s start with an easy 4x4.

Not too bad.  Now try a 5x5

The next one is a 6X6.

N equal to 7, 8, or 9 can get pretty intense so I will spare you that.

Now for the math part ----

In the puzzles, search for the boxes that have a Greek letter in the upper right-hand corner and fill in the blanks.

Substitute Arabic numbers for the Greek letters and do the calculations

Then transfer your answers here.
