The notorious pyrate Captain Scuttle Tew was being chased by the British man of war HMS Dunnellon. With his hold bursting with citrus and spring water, Cap'n Tew knew he could not escape. Before he was captured, he hid his swag near the gates to the city.
Before he was hanged, Tew vowed his treasure would remain forever hidden. The hangman stepped forward and placing the noose around Tew's neck he asked if Tew had any last words. Tew looked at a woman in the crowd and said, "I owes ye for the jolly night and now ye come to see me stretched. But Tew never welched on a bet. If ye can reason out me hint, forever ye'll be rich." But, before Tew could tell his riddle, the ladder fell and Cap'n Tew was suspended forever betwixt Heaven and Hell.
On dark nights when there is no moon, you can hear Ol' Tew's voice upon the wind...
