The "Old Coach Road" is the continuation of what is now Normandale Road and was the original road connecting Pauatahanui to Lower Hutt. It was completed in 1873 and remained an official road until 1930 even though it was already falling into disrepair by 1918 and had become effectively impassable by 1921. Now it forms part of the Belmont Regional Park with little change from the road's initial state. It was recognised as a historical site in 2005.
Park and grab or use the entrance to the park as a starting point for a trek to grab some of the other caches found in the park. BYO writing implement
