Take a tour of some of the colourful locations along Gill Street, the main street in Charters Towers.
The cache is not at the listed coordinates, but that is a good place to start. This is a Wherigo cache. If you are not familiar with this type of geocache you can read more about it on the Wherigo website, specifically here for information about what a Wherigo is or here for how to use a Wherigo. To play and find a Wherigo cache, you will need a suitable device, a smart phone or particular models of GPSr to download and play the the 'cartridge'. It can be easier to download the file up beforehand rather than in the street.
To log the cache as found you must complete the cartridge (file), find and sign the log. The cache location will be revealed after passing through various zones, and answering questions as directed by the wherigo cartridge. The questions are not designed to be tricky and the images should help. The cartridge creates an option to 'Scan QR' just ignore that.
The Wherigo cartridge file can be found here; Gill Street Hues.
The final location and wherigo cartridge was updated 30/11/2024. Extra hints if you have the old version - 'I see red' and 'reach at first light'.
It is about 1.4km walk from the listed coordinates. Cache contains a log and pencil.
