How to Get the Most of This Event
Here are a few tips to get the most out of the event!
- Be on time. If you're late, you'll miss out on some cool stuff!
- Everyone is welcome, whether you are an experienced puzzler or just starting out.
- While everyone is welcome, this may not be an ideal event for the youngest of geocachers. It will require a lot of sitting and being quiet.
- Bring a laptop and something to take notes. Some of the classes will give you opportunities to solve puzzles and a laptop may be useful or required.
- While this is an event, note that a significant period will be dedicated to instruction. Please be courteous to others and limit side conversations.
- This event/group is NOT for sharing coordinates to solved puzzles. It is designed to help you solve puzzles!
Who We Are
We are the Puzzle Posse (Bragger407, GeoMonkeyTiger!, LaFavorite Cacher, and poeanne). The Puzzle Posse formed in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic struck. We met online, 1-3 times a week, with the purpose of becoming better at solving puzzles. We are NOT the best puzzlers in the state (or even possibly, our home towns), but we have grown to love puzzling so much, we wanted to give to the community.
We LOVE puzzles. Because of this, we wanted to help encourage the entire geocaching community to become better puzzlers. To this end, we have created the Georgia Geocaching Puzzling Society (GGPS).
When We Meet
We will meet one weekend per month. At each month's event, we will announce the location and date of the following event.
What Are Our Goals?
The GGPS will serve Georgia by building on three key foundations:
- Education: We want to teach important skills and help geocachers find important resoures to help them solve puzzles. This effort will include in-person training, online resources, and more.
- Encourage: We want to support the development and creation of new puzzle caches and recognize outstanding puzzles placed by YOU!
- Engage: We want create an opportunity for networking in the Geocaching Puzzling community. This will include a new Facebook group, as well as monthly events, held in different locations around the state to encourage participation. We want to create a community that supports creating and solving puzzles in Georgia
What's In it for Me?
In addition to learning all kinds of great things about solving puzzles, we will be offering two extra incentives for people:
- We will have a cool prize for anyone that attends seven GPPS events in 2022.
- We will offer special incentives for publishing puzzles with a theme we set each month.
How Much Does This Event Cost?
Like all geocaching events, there is no charge to attend.
