We are continuing our relationship with the Jericho Stewarship Group and participating in a geocacher's work party in the Park. Come and help maintain a forest restoration site in beautiful Jericho Beach Park! It's a park with a unique combination of sandy shoreline and upland forest. You'll be helping the Jericho Stewardship Group and Vancouver Parks to keep the forest healthy.
Date: Sunday, April 3, 2022
Time: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Park: Jericho Beach Park
Activity: Weed removal, invasive species removal, mulch spreading, and new plantings
We'll be doing a variety of tasks including keeping invasive plants from crowding young trees; trimming and digging invasive Himalayan blackberry roots; spreading mulch; and hopefully planting ferns and trees.
Some work gloves will be available but if possible please bring your own gloves. Tools will be provided. The event will run rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather and activity.
Parking is available all around Jericho Beach Park. There should be lots of free parking along West 4th Avenue and NW Marine Drive close to the event. There are a variety of trails in the Park with a range of geocaches for your entertainment afterwards :)
Great activity for families and kids.
All participants will receive a Geocaching Souvenir for participating in this event.
