Edit 4/25/23: Someone has taken up residency! I don't want to chaange the title officially, but know that it should say something like, "There's a Home for Everyone". Pleaase do not disturb his new house while searching for the cache. It is not in there!
I bring the dog by here a lot to get a good run around. She loves this field. One day while throwing the stick, we decided to explore the woods around it. I think she caught a scent and followed it into the woods and I followed, or I just wanted to go into the woods and she followed. Both are equally likely. Anyways, we weren't really searching for a cache location, but we were in the woods and stumbled upon the perfect spot for a cache idea I have been toying with but never had a good spot. Well, one was just found.
Today, I had everything ready and we went off to place it. Of course I chose the day that was 22 degrees with an 8 degree windchill to go and place my caches. Our dog loves to romp in the woods. She loves to show off how much faster she is than us clumsy humans at leaping over logs and ducking under branches so at least she was having a grand time while I was turning into a popsicle placing the cache. My fingers probably had some degree of minor frostbite afterwards. There is a small manmade creek that you have to cross to get to the cache. It was full with about a foot of water and today, that whole foot was frozen solid. That's how cold it was. Please replace as found or better. Just make it blend in so the next cacher can have fun with it.
Things to note:
- Bring bugspray (that sounds so arbitrary after almost catching hypothermia when I placed it)
- Bring long pants
- Bring your kids and dog
- DO NOT cache at night since this cache is near homes and they'll be wondering why there are these people waving flashlights near their backyard.
Happy Caching!
Congratulations to Saberspark77 on the FTF!
