Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Okeechobee Taylor Creek Kayaking Challenge Series.

You WILL need a kayak or other watercraft to get to these caches.

This is the Challenging Challenge (Gold). You must complete the following:

Find caches placed with a minimum of 200 of the "Challenge Cache" attributes. That's twice as many as the Silver Level.

The geocache IS located at the posted coordinates, but to be able to claim and log the find, you must first meet the qualifications.

This cache is only available by water craft!  This was a fairly easy paddle for my 10 and 12 year old sons & me. You will need to get out of your boat for some of the caches. There are two islands you will have to explore. The whole trip is 3.5 miles one way (from launch site to launch site, or 7 miles round trip. They are micros, so BYOP.

While boating down this creek, you'll see everything from homes with docks and boats moored, to cattle ranches, to old, original Florida with giant cypress trees shading a portion of the course. There are even a couple of islands where we placed regular sized caches. Remember, this is Florida, and these caches are on the water, so you will most likely see alligators, turtles, snakes (venomous and not), and hundreds and hundreds of different kinds of birds. Make sure you have your personal flotation device, and all other boating safety equipment with you, and plenty to drink before you embark.

These caches are all fairly large micros, pill bottles, matchstick containers, preforms, etc, unless otherwise stated. They are hanging on branches about 2-4 feet from the water depending on the water level. They are camouflaged, so you'll have to look closely for them.

Remember to please take a little extra time to completely close the zip lock baggie and container lid, so other cachers can have the same fun experience you are having. Have fun!

You may find and sign this cache at the cache site at any time, and leave a note on the cache page if you do not qualify, but to log this cache online, you must complete the challenge first. You may use Project GC, provided in the link below to see if you qualify.
