Come one come all! Here is an opportunity to give back to the planet, an opportunity to say thank you for letting us play in your parks and an opportunity to clean up a small portion of the Beck Ranch Park which is a host of quite a few geocaches and events over the years.Â
Â
The 268-acre Beck Ranch site was originally a working cattle ranch in Osteen. Volusia County purchased the land through the Volusia Forever program to preserve the historical structures and provide a multipurpose park for county residents to enjoy.
Two multipurpose fields, adjacent to the park, are available for soccer, football and other activities.
The park also features huge live oak trees and Florida-friendly landscaping.
Visitors can view the ranch's scale house, grain silo and slaughter house.
Outdoor interpretive panels explain the history of the ranch, which once encompassed 10,000 acres on both sides of State Road 415.
Many types of wildlife and vegetation can be observed at Beck Ranch Park. Please do not remove any plants or harm the animals and birds that live here.
Â
We will meet at the posted coordinates at 9am for a quick meet and greet (about 15minutes) and then off to pick up trash in any direction you wish. Please dispose of the trash you find appropriately, there are trash bins in the area or pack it out. There will be trash bags available. If you require or desire gloves or other equipment, please bring it with you. I would suggest bringing the legal hydration of your choice along with bug spray and sunscreen, after all it is Florida.
Â
It wouldn't be an "Adventures In Geocaching" (AIG) event with out a hike to a cache after. Please come prepared if you would like to join us after the event for the hike. A few of us will be hiking to a nearby multi cache in the Lake Monroe Conservation Area.  We would love for you to join us but it is not required to attend the event. Â
