I love this trail... it is narrow with lots of little hills, blind corners and sheer drop offs. It is a beatiful hike just before sunset when the sunlight streams through the trees! On this little section of the trail there is an old detour that goes up around a tree. I always think of the lyric " You'll take the high road and I'll take the low road" (Loch Lomond) when I hike by here. I always encourage my dog Athena to take the high road, while I take the low road. She always gets there before me... not Scotland, and not the way it works out in the song, but what the heck :-D To find this cache, follow in Athena's footsteps (all 4).

This cache is located in Mt. Madonna County Park. Hours are 8am - Sunset. Parking fees apply in the park proper, but free parking is available at the Sprig Day Use Area as well as unofficial free parking at the Mt. Madonna Inn (top of Hecker Pass Hwy) and on Summit Road and Mt. Madonna Rd. (dirt).
