Cecilia forest, in a beautiful part of Constantia, is named after Cecil John Rhodes, who once owned the land.
The Cecilia forest and falls hike is about 4.5km long and could take you about 2 hours to complete. It's not a casual stroll, given the many steps and steep elevation at times, but many families (dogs included) often do this route. The route starts at the Cecilia Plantation car park along Rhodes Drive, opposite the Hohenort Avenue turn-off.
There are 7 caches to find along the well-defined path. Mostly easy to find - the challenge is to be stealthy to avoid the attention of the the numerous muggles walking by.
Difficulty: Moderate. Easy path to follow, but can be slippery after the rain.
There is no entry fee and it is best walked during daylight hours.
PLEASE NOTE: the coordinates around here are inconsistent due to high tree coverage and nearby steep mountains. Use GPS as a starting point, then continue with hint pics and geo-sense.
