Welcome to Florida Caverns State Park (FCSP), home of the largest cavern in the state.
This cache is located in a parcel of land that was recently acquired by the state park. The cache was placed with the permission of the park manager. It's named for Frank who is technically a volunteer now because he retired recently from the Florida Park Service after 35 years! To us though, he'll always be "Ranger Frank".
The cache is part of a geotrail that follows the new Bumpnose Trail which is blazed with white arrows on small orange markers. The trail is well marked by 4x4 posts with small orange markers with white arrows mounted on them. It mostly follows service roads and is very safe, but good footwear is still strongly recommended because of occasional tree roots or other things that may not be easily seen.
After signing the log, please replace the cache where you found it. There's an FTF prize inside!
FCSP is located at 3345 Caverns Road in Marianna (near the AL / FL / GA tri-state corner) and is open from 8 AM to dusk every day of the year. A fee is charged at the ranger station for entry to the park.
