Geocache Description:

Let's hear ya ROAAAAR!!

This series of caches is  for all the children at heart, young and old! Lets go back in time 100 million years ago and explore the age of the giant lizard and find some fun caches while we do so! Each one is intended to be found day or night, rain or shine. The road chosen for the series has light traffic, scenic views, and should allow for it to take about 45 minutes to complete. Please replace cache as found to maximize fun for fellow cachers. TOTT needed are tweezers and a pen as a few are log only. ENJOY!

This Dinosaur is a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Easily the scariest of all the dinos, this thing was a monster! Thank goodness we dont have to experience life at the same time as these beasts.

The man responsible for naming the Tyrannosaurus Rex was Henry Fairfield Osborn, the president of the American Museum of Natural history at the time of the dinosaur’s discovery and identification in 1905.Osborn and his associates instantly recognized that this new dinosaur was at the top of its class and as such needed a fitting name.Osborn eventually chose the name Tyrannosaurus Rex, bringing the Greek words “tyrannos” meaning “tyrant”, “sauros” meaning lizard, and the Latin word “Rex”, which translates to King.

Through it's name the Tyrannosaurus was crowned king, or more specifically, the Tyrant Lizard King!
