This cache is on the new path that was surfaced when the railway returned to The Scottish Borders, many decades after the Beeching cuts of the 1960s. Although it is much more accessible, I have to admit, I preferred the woodland walk it replaced, despite the frequent mud. However, it is a good way to take the walk, or cycle, from Galashiels to Clovenfords, off the main road leaving town.
I was sad to see how many trees had been lost or damaged along this walkway, by the recent Arwen and Corrie storms. At the moment it is rather open and bleak but, hopefully, spring will bring new growth.
Congratulations to firwood-johnny for FTF. Not surprising, since it was hard to find a spot along this walk that didn't come within the disallowed range of all his own caches.
