The Oak Forest area was annexed by the City of Houston about 1949. It is the third largest subdivision in Harris County (after Kingwood and Sharpstown) with over 5,500 homes and a population exceeding 23,000. The subdivision features several parks/recreation areas including hike & bike trails, schools, churches, stores, and restaurants. Neighboring Garden Oaks is somewhat smaller but has been named one of the "25 Hottest Neighborhoods" in Houston.
My goal in placing a few caches in the Garden Oaks - Oak Forest (GOOF) area is to highlight a few of the areas of possible interest in GOOF, to make the finds (maybe not all of them) relatively easy and somewhat diverse.
Parking locations are usually plentiful and some of the hides will be of the P&G variety. As always, be aware that some of the areas may contain "muggles" and please replace the containers exactly as found. That way, muggle activity will be minimized, the difficulty level will be maintained, and cachers who follow you can enjoy the hunt.
PLEASE NOTE: The cache is placed on private property with permission from the owner. Please be respectful.
Congratulations to Eagles1181 and CaveatObservator for Co-FTF!
